Scholar Spotlight

Elizabeth Matamoros, a graduate of St. Francis Prep and a Bellerose, NY native has found a new home in Holworthy Hall and plans to spend the next three years with the Environmental Science and Public Policy department, as she is already fascinated with the intricacies of water and global water management. She has also really enjoyed learning more about her culture and has found incredible community as a new member of Cuban and Latina groups on campus and as a board member of Latinos in Health Careers.

Elizabeth wakes up early to volunteer at the local homeless shelter and spends afternoons at REACH, mentoring and playing with young kids with special needs. She has continued to play lacrosse in college and is a proud member of the undefeated Women’s Club Lacrosse team. Looking ahead to next year, Elizabeth is very pleased to be serving as a Peer Advising Fellow, getting new freshman excited about the College, and is also looking to get more involved with the Harvard Foundation.
