Mission and Vision

Mission Statement of the HCNY Foundation

The purpose of the HCNY Foundation is to foster scientific, literary and educational interests among members of the Harvard Club of New York City, to provide scholarships for students at Harvard University, and otherwise to advance the interests and promote the welfare of Harvard University.

Mission and Vision
In addition to scholarships, the HCNY Foundation seeks out and supports other needs of Harvard's undergraduates that may not otherwise be met.

The Foundation strives to fulfill its mission by executing the following activities as funded by investment income and annual Club member contributions and gifts to the best of its ability:

  • Scholarships
  • Undergraduate Programs
  • Grants to Graduate Schools
  • Programs for Harvard Club of New York City members

While the HCNY Foundation continues its current activities, it is actively considering whether and how the mix and scope of these activities should change in light of Harvard College’s recent financial aid initiatives, in order to ensure that the HCNY Foundation’s resources are allocated to “best and highest uses” pursuant to its mission.

Join the Tradition of Giving

Since 1954, Club members have been providing financial aid support of undergraduates by contributing to the HCNY Foundation for extraordinary men and women to achieve their goal of a Harvard education.  For more information on how to join in the Foundation's philanthropic tradition, please click here.
