The Foundation hosts numerous events to engage the vibrant community of Scholars and the membership of the Harvard Club of New York.
The George J.W. Goodman Lectures on Media & Global Affairs: This series has been made possible by the generosity from longtime member George J.W. “Jerry” Goodman ’52. As an extension of his distinguished career as an author, an award winning PBS television host, and an economist, Mr. Goodman’s endowed an exceedingly generous gift to support a special lecture series with a focus on various aspects of media, including social media, and their implications in the world today. This gift continues to be the largest ever to the Foundation from a living donor.
The Scholars Fall Dinner in Cambridge: This annual event brings together all of the Scholars currently attending Harvard with past Scholars, the Foundation’s Board and some of the Foundation’s biggest supporters to foster a sense of community among the Scholars and to celebrate their most recent achievements.
Foundation Gala: Every year, the Harvard Club of New York City hosts the Foundation and its guests to raise funds in support of the Foundation’s efforts to increase access to a Harvard education for New York City students and to continue its grants to Harvard’s Graduates Schools.
Special Events at the Harvard Club of New York: Part of the Foundation’s mission is to foster scientific, literary and educational interests among members of the Harvard Club of New York City. By bringing Harvard to Club members, the Foundation furthers one of its primary goals.
Special Events in Cambridge: The Foundation hosts and sponsors events for its Scholars, and, occasionally, for the broader University community in Cambridge. These events include an annual Fall Dinner for Scholars who are currently attending Harvard and Career Panels for undergraduate students.
